Top 5 Wallpaper Trends

The walls in your home are the largest surfaces other than the floors. So you can create standout moments by using fabulous wallpapers to cover those spaces. Wallcoverings have come a long way in recent years, and there are definitely some great trends to watch that add drama and impact to your walls. Here are 5 of my very favorites!

Bold Color

Drama is definitely the name of the game when it comes to some wallpaper designs today. Jewel tones, high-impact combinations, and rich colors create those wow-worthy rooms that make a statement. The Schumacher wallpaper I used above was designed by Miles Redd, a man known for his love of bold and bright hues.

Texture

It isn’t just color that’s attracting attention on the walls - texture also plays an important part. Grasscloth, 2D designs, and unusual materials like bark and shell are just some of the fantastic ways that wallpaper is showcasing dimension. I used a deep navy grasscloth in the bedroom above, and the texture definitely adds to the cozy feeling of the room.

Botanicals

Large floral patterns, leaf motifs, and vines are definitely blooming on wallpapers today. I do love a gorgeous botanical design, like the large peony pattern you see above. The oversized flowers craft a warm and intimate feeling for the space that is also a little bit feminine.

Metallics

Metallic wallpapers are not only attention grabbing, but they can also serve a purpose. In the dining room I designed above, the subtle sheen of the wallpaper on the ceiling creates a soft glow when the lights are on.

Classic Patterns

Timeless patterns are making a comeback today, along with more traditional interior design. Gate motifs, Greek key designs, and fabulous stripes are all enjoying a new popularity. These patterns are classic for a reason.
