A Dynamic Collaboration
Thompson Traders is proud to launch a brand-new collection developed in collaboration with nationally recognized interior designer Kara Cox.
Comprising a modern take on a farmhouse sink, oval range hood, bar sink, integrated vanity and bath sink, and freestanding soaking tub, the Quintana Collection softens the hard lines and edges found in traditional kitchen and bath designs. Each product features soft curves, striking organic shapes and an unexpected mix of metal finishes. The bold yet balanced collection unites Thompson's exquisite vision of hand-crafted metal creations with Cox's fresh, tailored aesthetic.
Inspired by travel, developed through partnership.
Cox found inspiration for the Quintana Collection from a recent trip to the resort town of Tulum in Quintana Roo, a Mexican state on the eastern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula known for its crystal-clear waters, long sandy beaches, Mayan ruins and lush tropical forests. “Much of my inspiration for my interiors comes from travel and exposing my eye to different design elements around the world,” explained Cox.
The creative seeds for the unexpected shapes of the collection were planted by the home she stayed in during that visit to Tulum. “There were no hard edges,” explained Cox. “All of the plaster walls were rounded - even the countertops and showers were curved. It really opened my mind to different textures and shapes in interior design. I loved the softness and femininity of the homes in Quintana Roo so much that I encapsulated them in the new collection.”
“This new collection from design star Kara Cox reflects the essence of everything our brand stands for,” says Alejandra Ochoa de Thompson, founder and creative director of Thompson Traders. “It is inspired by the beauty of Quintana Roo and Tulum, it is hand-crafted by our artisans and it provides an incomparable aesthetic that uses the timeless elegance of metal to bring luxury and sophistication to the kitchen and bath.”
