3 Ideas for Setting a Gorgeous Holiday Table
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week - and then we have the holiday season rushing up right behind it. I am setting a goal to just enjoy every moment of the season and to create stress-free holiday events at home. If you’re wondering how you’re going to set your Thanksgiving table - or for any other holiday meal - here are three of my easiest tips for creating a stunning look without a lot of fuss.
1. Offer a Cohesive Palette
To set a sophisticated holiday table, start with your color palette. For a chic and cohesive look, a color palette will tie it all together. I like to use table linens to achieve that, like with the gorgeous floral tablecloth above. Remember that you do not have to use a traditional holiday palette - you should work with the room’s decor. Taking the pink from the room above, I dialed it up a notch with a bold and beautiful pink pattern on the linen. A properly dressed table with a tablecloth is always more festive.
2. Create Layers
Just like the most gorgeous interiors, the perfect table has layers, like linens, chargers, plates, bowls, stemware, and serveware. It looks more festive if you pull out all of the sizes of plates and create a beautiful stack of patterns and colors, from charger to salad plate. It creates a visual feast that draws you in. And it’s very easy to do.
3. Bring the Bling
Lastly, add luxe details. Use candles, flowers, place cards, chic knife rests, individual salt and pepper shakers, and lots of stemware for water and wine. But, most importantly, bring that bling. Use gold and silver to make the table sparkle and shine. And yes, you can definitely mix your metals.
I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving with lots of love and laughter … and no stress!
All the best,
Kara
