For something so small, hardware can make a big difference in how a room looks. For example, a white kitchen can look serene and calm with brushed nickel pulls and handles on the cabinetry. Or it can take on a completely different persona with a dark bronze finish on the hardware.

Functionality is incredibly important when you’re selecting hardware. These pieces are actually the items you’ll touch the most in your home. So you want the pulls to feel good in your hand. You want the door knobs to turn smoothly for you or for handles to be big enough to grip. So much of that will depend on your preference, your age, and how you use the room.
