6 Hot Trends in Kitchen & Bath Design
One of my favorite things about being a designer is going to trade shows and events to discover the newest trends and latest products before they’re available to the general public. That keeps me and my team ahead of the curve when it comes to designing interiors that are stunning and high-tech. I recently returned from the the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas where I saw some incredible new ideas that are going to definitely show up in the interiors I’m designing. Here are the top 6 trends I loved at the show:
1. Color in the Kitchen
This room has been nothing but white and stainless for a long time. But now color is popping up everywhere, from appliances and sinks to counters and cabinets. And those colors are not just soft pastels! I saw bold reds, hot pinks, citrusy chartreuse, sharp oranges, and fashion-forward blues.
2. Green Scene
But the color I saw most was definitely green. There were gorgeous greens in quartz counters, cabinetry, sinks, tubs, and tiles. Every shade of green was represented, from apple to sage to emerald.
3. Shaped Edges
No sharp corners here! The countertops I saw had softened edges, extra layers of shaping, and a more curved style. I loved the details and rounded profiles.
4. Earthy Textured Stone
Softly textured stone made its mark at the show on tile, counters, and even on fabulous stone tubs. Earthy colors gave a great organic vibe, with the stone more in matte tones rather than polished.
5. Fluting
Movement and shape added so much visual interest, and fluting is still definitely on trend. I saw the fluted look on cabinetry, stone, and sinks.
6. Customization
More than anything, you can now have it your way in kitchen and bathroom design. Everything is available for customization, from range hoods, to faucets, to sinks. Mixing and matching finishes allows the look to be exactly what you want.
I loved the new looks I found at KBIS and I’m looking forward to bringing them into my projects. If you’re ready to revive your kitchen or bathrooms, give my team a call!
All the best,
Kara
